Elena/Urko es licenciadx en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, coeditorx del libro Transfeminismos junto a Miriam Solá y profesorx invitadx en M.U.E.C.A, Máster Universitario en Estudios Culturales y Artes Visuales (perspectivas feministas y cuir/queer) de la universidad Miguel Hernández.

Activista postporno, forma parte de la escena transfeminista y es unx de lxs fundadores de Post-Op. Este colectivo fue uno de los primeros grupos del Estado español en empezar a trabajar en torno a las prácticas pornográficas disidentes, visibilizando cuerpos, sexualidades y prácticas no normativas.

Su trabajo abarca performances, talleres e instalaciones, conferencias, videocreación y acción directa, aunque en los últimos tiempos ha incidido especialmente en la realización de talleres.

Ha colaborado en diversos proyectos educativos como el Programa de Estudios Independientes del M.A.C.B.A (Museo d´Art Contemporani de Barcelona) o los realizados para A.S.P.A.Y.M (Asociación de Lesionados Medulares y otras diversidades funcionales).

Sus intervenciones se han podido ver en centros como el Palau de la Virreina de Barcelona, el Museo Reina Sofía de Madrid, el MUSAC (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León) o el Centro Pompidou de Paris. Así como en festivales como el Pornfilmfestival de Berlin o el Luff de Laussane ( Suiza) .

Además, fue invitadx especial en la Bienal de Performance de Buenos Aires para realizar un seminario-taller sobre prácticas corporales y cuerpos disidentes.

Cabe destacar su producción centrada en cuestiones de sexualidad y diversidad funcional. En este ámbito destaca la colaboración con el documental Yes, we fuck o el proyecto de diseño de prótesis y órtesis sexuales Pornortopedia.

BIOGRAPHY

Elena/Urko es a graduate in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, co-editor of the book Transfeminisms together with Miriam Solá and is also a guest professor at the  M.U.E.C.A, Masters in Cultural Studies and Visual Arts (feminist and queer perspectives) at the University of Miguel Hernandez.

As a postporn activist, they form part of the queer scene and is one of the founders of Post-Op. This collective was one of the first groups in the Spanish state to start working on dissident pornographic practices, making visible non-conforming bodies, sexualities and practices.

Elena Urko’s work encompasses performance, workshops and installations, conferences, video-creation and direct action, although in recent times they have spent more time on giving workshops.

They have contributed to diverse educational projects such as the Programme of Independent Studies of the M.A.C.B.A (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona) or those run in collaboration with  A.S.P.A.Y.M (Association of Spinal Injury and other functional diversities).

Elena Urko has given lectures at centres such as the Palau de la Virreina de Barcelona, the Museum of Queen Sofía in Madrid, the MUSAC (Museum of Contemporary Art of Castilla & León) or the Pompidou Centre in Paris; As well as at festivals such as the Berlin Porn Film Festival or the Luff de Laussane in Switzerland.

Elena Urko was also a special guest at the Performance Biennial in Buenos Aires giving a seminar-workshop about physical practices and dissident bodies.

They currently focus on questions around sexuality and functional diversity. In this area standing out for their collaboration with the documentary Yes, We Fuck or the Pornortopedia project designing and producing sexual prostheses and orthoses.
